Chances of majoring in theater and becoming a actress?

I have a BFA in Acting. While, I love show biz, there are a few things I would do differently. First, I would have majored in music. Besides the fact I love music, there are more jobs for musicians. Second, I would take acting classes at a good school outside of college, like The Actor's Studio in NYC. IMHO, acting can be learned in these classes better than in college. Professors are stuck in the academic world. I'd rather take acting classes from someone who is *working* in the business and has more up-to-date info. Third, I'd get a minor or associates degree in business. Being an entertainer means being an entrepreneur. The ones who are successful treat it like the business it is. You'll hear a lot of people telling you show biz is hard and hardly anyone 'makes it.' (Whatever that means.) I know a lot of people who are doing quite well in it. However, those people are multi-talented, which gets them more gigs. Aaaaand they treat it like a business. So -- my advice is to major in music, get a business minor and take a few acting classes. Oh yeah. And start a YouTube channel. Break a leg!!

your a freshmen, get into the drama program at your school, try to get into acting programs outside of your school, get good grades, do community service and sports if possible, and consider NYU Tish for college (great school)! In general, just do your best in school, explore your talent and go to a good college. Worse comes to worse, acting remains a passion and you will find another career to make $.

You have a pretty good chance of becoming a actress best bets become part time modeling and let that shoot off if your pretty but other wise you have a 20% chance or even less hope i helped

casting directors dont look as much on ur school as ur talent and ur look.
