Is there any way to do geocaching without a GPS system?

I'm looking to do geocaching but GPS systems seem to be no less then $100.

What you can also do is download the geocaching thing open google earth from geocaching.com. Then you can really get to know what you are looking for by reading the cache page and then looking on google earth and trying to exactly locate the cache on the map. This could be a good way to do it with out using a GPS but make sure you know where you are looking so you don't get frustrated!

Not really.The whole point of Geo-caching is using a GPS in the first place. You can participate as a member of a Geo-caching "Team" if you wish. One person uses the GPS to get a general location and the other team members try and locate the "clues" left as hints.. Check out Geo-caching.com for details. They list treasure sites all over the U.S., state by state and foreign countries. The keep an updated list of ALL the treasures that are listed and yet to be found along with clues.It's a blast to do !!!
