I am currently in the last semester of my undergrad 3rd year. How can I do computer science research on my own?

By now I have a good understanding of concepts in computer science and a decent CGPA. I want to do some research in computer science, but none of my professors are interested in helping UG students. So how can I do research on my own? Please include resources as to how I can figure out topic I want to do research in, what approach I should take and how to write a paper and get it published.
