    I've used spinning gear with flies for trout in the past... I used a clear casting bubble. It's nothing new.

ive used spinning rods in the past and a few other guys here have with flies, but the general view is that no one has had any better results from it. us old stuck in our ways brits eh?

I've tried using a casting bubble and putting on a regular fly fishing leader but it just is not the same....sure you can cast further with a spinning reel....but I'll just stick to fishing flies with my fly rod...and leave the bait and spinner fishing to my spinning gear.....btw spin fly fishing is nothing new...it's been around for years.
