  • Answer:

Soft plastics are fine in saltwater. They will not disintegrate or melt. The hook however will rust if not rinsed off, though. I use curly-tail grubs and straight-tail worms in saltwater myself for surf perch and halibut.

They can and are used regularly. A lot of the shapes are the same and work equally well in fresh or saltwater. Your problem will be with your hooks, bass hooks aren't made to hold up to saltwater. You can use them, but it will ruin them very quickly. Make sure you rinse the heck out of any freshwater gear that even comes close to touching saltwater.

I mean you can but what you catch is going to be limited.

it can be used but it may not work well. it will not disintegrate but I am afraid you may not be able to catch good hooks.

No, it will not disintegrate. I just would not recommend using saltwater bait in freshwater
