What should i use to go fishing on a beach in Florida?

If you buy the local paper and look in the sports section they should tell you when the tides are high or low, what kind of fish you can catch, and most importantly what you can use. It helps big time. Good Luck

In CA, you wouldn't have very good luck with anything using a deep sea rod for beach fishing. I don't know if it is different in FL, but I assume not...

If that's a short, strong rod with a large reel, you need to fish on the pier. You can't cast far with those things. Try squid, live pin fish or shrimp.

well first off, is your deep sea fishing combo a spinning combo, or your conventional offshore combo? if its a spinning reel you will have a lot more options in terms of baits to use. if you want more action i would recomend using real bait, if you can catch the bait live it will be better. you can catch them on small spoons or any small tube or your convential crankbait or top water plug. the bait fish you should look for are the ballyhoo, the blue runner, mullet, sand perch, and pinfish. if rigged corectly these baits should trigger reaction strikes off the sharks and other ocean dewling creaters, such as baracuda, many species of shark, an occasional black fin tuna etc.
