Where do I begin with coastal fishing in the UK?

Hiya am looking at starting river fishing and need as much help and advice as I can am in north east uk?

Well im not from the uk or anything but when i river fish i throw the line upstream usally cast in slow flowing water (even if you cant see fish they are there!) near a log thats in a river (dont cast to close) white/silvery water (if it looks like sorta like that or clear) dont stand like right by the water fish can see you i would use night crawlers never been sea fishing so good luck with that have fun fishing!
