How much time maternity leave lasts in the UK?

  I know that I can run my maternity leave on so I would still get the same benefits, but some workplaces have it written into the contacts that you can only have the full maternity package after you had been back at work for a certain amount of time (I have a friend who has to work a year before taking another maternity leave). You need to check with your HR dept. You will still be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay (if you are in the UK) no matter when your next maternity leave is, but you might not qualify for any enhancements that your workplace gives.
