How much gas does a BBQ use?

Need to convert a propane BBQ to natural gas, does any one know what size drill bit to use to enlarge the orif?

    Don't even think about drilling out the orifice. They sell new orifices at your local gas fireplace stores and they can help you. Take the old orifice out or take the barbecue in to have it done. Some barbecues cannot be altered so be prepared to have to buy a new barbecue. For the sake of your neighbourhood don't play with a bomb. ( drilling out the orifice). Good luck. Richard

Check your local appliance repair shop. Have your grills model number ready. they might have a conversion kit or they can order one for you. Do this job right. You don't want to have an accident with your family.

OK - I know that I could lose my gas license or people will @#$% on my head for this comment but BBQ's are an open flame device with manual gas control. I've never seen the reasoning for converting from one gas to another because it's usually from propane to NG. You'll over fire on NG, but really, is it any different than when you forget about the meat on the grill and end up with Hiroshima burgers? You manually control the flame regardless. I say - let it go. Oh man - let the insults begin Edit Oops - you're right PG - it is underfire - and you're right as well in your comments. I guess it's just that I've heard about more injury and damage from people not knowing the proper way to light their BBQ's that (at least a part of me) feels that the whole conversion of a BBQ is a moot point. It puzzles me that they let the general public use these things in the first place.
