Pele will always be regarded as the very best in history, but my personal favorite is Edwin Van Der Sar because he is a goalie (I am too) and I really think that he is amazing and aspire to be a quarter of how good he is. Here is a video:

The best soccer player in my opinion is Cristiano Ronaldo.42 goals in one season last season plus many assists. For mexico id say Borgetti is the best of all time as he is their record goalscorer and a high quality striker in my opinion. Currently I'll go with Marquez as he has played in the Barcelona team for a number of years and they are a top quality side and he is a solid part of their team.

That is far too easy of a question to answer my friend. The best soccer player in the world today would be without a doubt, Cristiano Ronaldo. Well in my opinion it has to be the one and only Leonel Messi, but Kaka, Ronaldinho, C. Ronaldo, Quaresma, Simao Sabrosa, Diego, Karim Benzema, S. Gerrard, Xavi, Iniesta, Arjen Robben, Fabregas, De Rossi, Ibrahimovic, F. Lampard, are all very close it would have to be one of them.
