What is it like to study engineering at graduate level at Cambridge?

  Cambridge has a fantastic reputation in Engineering. If you are considering graduate level study then my advice would be to find an area of engineering that genuinely interests you. Have a look at the research going on in the department and see what you find interesting. Undertaking a masters or a PhD requires a lot of work and self-motivation so it is important that you have a genuine passion for the topic you are researching or else you won't be very successful. I personally find my research group (http://www-mech.eng.cam.ac.uk/dynvib/) to be the most interesting, but that may not be the same for you. It goes without saying that the resources and facilities at the Department of Engineering are some of the best in the world. In addition to this, Cambridge University is a world renowned institution and a very exciting place to study. The college based system is very unique and all graduate students are assigned a college when they enter the university. Your college is a place where you can socialise with a wide group of postgraduate students from all disciplines. Cambridge is also a really beautiful city and a wonderful place to live.
