What's the going rate for babysitters?

    For 3 kids I'd pay $6.00 an hour......that would be $2.00 per kid, per hour.. And its a fair amount, for a teenager, to earn.. I used to babysit, for $20.00 a night, and that was 6 kids, and two were twin's in diaper's, and I was only 9 years old!!! And believe me, the two sister's couldn't come home fast enough for me!! These 6 kids were all over the place!! And the Mom's stayed at the club, until it closed, that's how desperate they both were to get out of the house!! And in the "70s" a $20.00 was alot of money to a kid!! So, I do think an hourly of $6.00 an hour, or a flat fee of $30.00 so you could take as long as you need too.. Even over-night, if you want then give her a $50.00, and leave early in the morning, but come back early as well... So, she can finally have a break, you know.. Good Luck, and enjoy every minute you have away!! I seldom got to get away from my 4 kids, as a single parent working two jobs, so I'm happy for you two, to be able to get away!! Enjoy!! smile!!!

Well, honestly that depends on where you live. I do childcare in my home and I charge $50/wk/child. If you are just using a babysitter for a few hrs for you and your husband to get out of the house I would say that for 3 kids a good rate would be $10/hr.

it depends on where you live. i live in a small community, after school care(until 5:30) is $8 a day. All day is $13. in the next town over, wich is alittle bigger, it ranges from $60 to $85 per week per child.

if its a highschooler I would say for 3 kids that take care of themselves well - $6/hour with tip. Some babysitters are charging much more though, i know of one charging $12/hr for one toddler, whether they're sleeping or not. GOODLUCK

For 3 kids $10 an hour normally. If house hold items are broken or missing give her $8 an hour. If when you get home 1 or more of the kids are injured only give her $5 an hour. If the kids are missing she gets NO MONEY!

I usually pay 5 an hour for my kids I also do a 20 minimum if I book last minute (I try to keep my sitter happy so I don't have to worry)I usually will go to 6 an hour if I get 2 sitters one of my children just turned 1 so if its a Friday night and my regular sitter has her best friend over(who is also one of my regular sitters) an extra dollar an hour isn't that much ($3 per kid per hour) They usually draw straws to see who gets which kid and my four year old loves not having to share her "friend" for the night. EDIT**I noticed a lot of day homes etc on here its not the same and teenagers shouldn't be paid the same why?? Most dayhomes are gov regulated and have adults who are paying taxes on there earnings teenagers are completely under the table and do not have to take any courses or have the expense of getting their bussiness child proofed they are in your home. Many places even have different rates of min wage for teenagers.Please don't over pay your teenager babysitter it should be extra money there full time is school and they shouldn't be tempted away from that by money!! By the way you should take into consideration you are also paying for snacks and possibly entertainment the amount you pay at a day home has this included.

Im watching 3 kids now (younger) and i am getting paid 375 a week so how many day is she watching them for how long? I would say 4 dollars a child
