  • Answer:

To have a makeup artist come to you is much more costly. I was quoted $100 to $150 for that service. I found that my hair salon could do my makeup at their location for only $35 and went with that option.

I paid $100 for pre make-up - a week before, to see what I like and how would it look. And then I paid additional $150 for the wedding day. So together 250, and it was worth it. She's done a great job and I looked beautiful.

They charge on what your position is. So the bride is about $100, and bridemaids are $75. Its better to just have the person doing your hair help with it or have a friend do it. Its really pricey and not worth it much unless you want a specific look. It sounds like you would be going for a natural look since you dont wear much makeup so I'd just look to a friend. I'm going to a makeup artist for my wedding because I want dark and dramatic and I've tried myself but I dont want to screw it up on my wedding day. Natural makeup is light and hard to mess up.

Like most things wedding-related, cost varies on location. I was married in the greater Seattle-metro area and paid $75 to have mine done. I shopped around and found it was a fair price for this area.
