How is "Earth Day" celebrated and what sort of events are held?
-
Is it deemed a Public Holiday? Who invented "Earth Day"? When was the first "Earth Day" and why wasn't I told?
-
Answer:
It might be a Public Holiday, depending on where you live. Considering there are over 200 countries in the world, how are we supposed to know where you are from? It is a public holiday in Canada, U.S., and Australia (and probably other places too). It was created by an American senator, to help the environment. This is because the U.S. is the leading cause of global warming, pollution, and most of the environmental problems our world is facing. I am not hating, just merely giving the facts. The first Earth Day was in 1970 and you might not even have been alive then. :P Earth Day is usually celebrated by turning off all lights and consumers of energy for an hour or more, to conserve.
