When were invisible braces made?

Do you get made fun of at high school for having braces?

  • im 14 and just got my braces on..i have to have them on for 2 years and 4 months so i will be like a junior when i get them off! i just hope i dont get made fun of alot..and just hope ...show more

    No I got made fun of for having crooked teeth but my parent were too poor to pay for me to get braces. I ended up losing all of my teeth because crooked teeth lead to gum disease and that leads to tooth loss. You are very lucky to get to be able to wear braces - they are expensive. Don't worry about wearing braces. Other kids wear them too. You can even change the colors of the little wires that are on them - my son did all sorts of color combinations. Then when you get them off = beautiful straight healthy teeth!!! Be happy - you are lucky.

no don't worry about it you wont. actually, it should work out great because all the people you know in high school will have never seen you with them off so they'll think you're a stud when you do get them off so it's actually better

Dont worry , i got them when i was 14 too!!!!!!LOL!! all my friends thought it was sooo cool because it looked like "grillz" (thats when the song Grillz was hot), but some people didn't even realized i had braces because i got the color of the brackets in clear, so its a lot less noticeable. i am in high school now and people think its hot, and a lot of people have it, so its cool!!!

In Hawaii (where I live) all the popular kids have braces. They think it's cool, like a sign that you fit in. people like me (with straight teeth) are criticized for NOT having braces. It's kind of funny.

nope i'm going into my sophomore year and still have them, but then again so does a large majority of my class. lots of people have them you'll be fine

nahh trust me you wont be teased, and you are NOT the only one. a lot of my friends have braces and they dnt get teased. im in the process of getting braces.! (:

Honestly, you may get one or two comments like Brace face or something. But everyone gets over it pretty quick.

No not at all actually! i was so surprised but i've had my braces on for 3 years (I am geting them off in August) so nobody really cares anyway.

It is fairly standard for teenagers to have braces and so most people just accept it as normal. In fact, my daughter, when she was about 14 asked me to put braces on her teeth. (I am a dentist) She was very disappointed when I told her that her teeth were so straight that she did not need braces. So don't worry about it.
