Is it hard to become a dental assistant?

I want to become a dentist. is it better to do dental assistant then do dental?

is it faster and easier to become a dental assistant then do dental or i should just go for dental program?
Answer:

You will be SO much more educated in Dental School if you are a Dental Assistant first! I was an assistant for many years before Hygiene school and I know more than other Hygienists and other "new" Dentists. I want to yell-"This way is so much better" just because of my experience!

take the extra work and become a dentist. i know someone who is a dental assistant and now shes stuck. by stuck i mean she doesnt have any benifits, she feels she cant do anything else for a job, and she has so little money that her parents has to buy her car for her and pay some of her bills.

it would be a waste of money and time to go into dental assisting school than to dental school. just get your pre-rec's and than straight to dental school
