    Get yourself an international drivers' license. JPJ will issue one for you on the same day. It costs RM150. Remember to bring along your Malaysian license while driving in Germany because your international drivers' license is only valid with it. Alternatively you can get a German license. But it's not worth it since you are here for a short time. Furthermore it takes about 3 months to get your license done in Germany.

You must ask someone at the German embassy. It should be fine, but for e.g. in South Africa they sell 'international' licenses, but I am not allowed to drive in Germany because they know that in African countries people can just buy licenses without actually knowing how to drive!

Absolutely not. You can apply for international license in Germany when you arrive there. A country of your origin don't issue international license or if they did. Germany and some other countries will not honor it.
