What do young Americans like so much about Berlin ?

    They do go to London and Paris, that's just a misconception, not a common one but just you having a misconception. I think the reason why Americans go to Berlin though is because it's a very multi-cultural place like many of Europe's best cities!

I agree with the previous answer about Berlin being a multi-cultural city with everything close at hand...party....green living....adventure....sex....and more party. Plus the beer...lol Additional I think its about the history of Berlin and the allied occupation after WW2. Well I grew up in the american sector of west Berlin ( in a Foster Home ) and I must say it was always exciting to visit the bases during holidays, like Christmas. Where I for the first time sat on Santa's lap and made a christmas wish. A big deal at that time especially for a young boy in a home. Nowadays its all to common...to sit on Santas lap even in Germany...#lol Then there are the American Fairs in the american sector, although a big deal. And than in Bakeries all around the city, you will find the famous AMERIKANER ( American ) a delicious chocolate covered sponge cake - disc-thing. I loved those! and they even come in White and Black ( oops maybe a bit racist??? ).
