How to start a dirt bike?

How do you push start or roll start dirt bike?

  • its 93 honda xr200r. it wont kick start and has new plug. i want to see if push start will work

    Very simple. i'm 13 and can do it like a charm lol.The only way that i've been able to do it is going down a hill. Put your bike into a gear other than 1st prob 3rd and hold in ur clutch. Then start rolling/running with ur bike, hop on it and pop the clutch. Then of course give it gas lol GL! I had a bad start plug so it nvr started and whenever i did this it would start up immediately.

have it in first and hold the clutch in and push then drop the clutch and away you go .by the way umm it wont kick over so that could be bad news you might have to explore into the guts of it and see why it wont kick over .

definately 1st or 2nd gear on a hard surface an older 4 stoke like that will just die in 3rd

RockBase said it very well. You can also have someone to pull you with there truck but you need to be safe when you do this, are you could get hurt.

put in 3rd gear , run and jump on or have someone push you with clutch pulled in, then let clutch out fast. Make sure key is on, battery charged, choke on if needed.
