Is cheap clay okay to use?

Would it be okay to use Sculpey clay to make a BJD?

• I was wondering if sculpey clay would be okay to make a ball jointed doll out for starters, I've heard a few ups and downs but not enough information.

  If you mean a real elastic strung ball-jointed doll, I think Sculpey may not have the strength to handle it. I know some materials similar to Sculpey have been used but I can't remember the names of the products. I suggest you join Den of Angels forum and read their Artist's section. (you will not see that section if you are not logged in there). The section seems to be closed to new posts (it may have been too hard to police it to screen out people making other kinds of dolls).
