How a Indian user can add Funds to his Paypal account?

  • I can't see any option to add funds in my Paypal account,I have linked a Card even it's confirmed but whenever i am trying to pay using it Paypal shows an error and i have to pay urgently for my hosting. How can i add fund to my account?

    You Cannot. Adding funds to your PayPal balance is not allowed yet for Indian accounts. Due to regulations by central banks of various countries [ especially India] PayPal can't act as banking medium. RBI (Reserve Bank of India) used this measure to 'control' the transactions and money involved. Indian accounts are even mandated to attach their pan cards. Simply put, Indian accounts can't hold balance in PayPal. Why? This is one of Indian govt's measures to check if you are using your balance for illegal transactions and even evading tax? Here comes RBI's PURPOSE CODE into action too. Though after years of struggle, PayPal has been able to convince the Indian govt. to operate in India but the govt. has laid severe constraints on it and the absence of PayPal balance is one of them. PayPal has no choice but to simply comply with RBI if it wants to survive in India. PayPal is available in the Indian market for international remittances and payments. However, it is crippled as it does not allow users to receive more than $10,000 per transaction, and automatically transfers them to the user’s bank account on a daily basis, due to RBI guidelines on export related remittances. It does not allow users to make payments using their PayPal balance, although they can use a linked credit card or bank account for the same purpose.

it is ridiculous! i can receive a verification amount to any account and all the cards debit/credit cards are mastercard/visa verified which complies to all the banks norms across the world. this is just not agreeable that credit cards  are acceptable but debit cards are not then in case a person does not /not eligilble for credit card how can he pay via paypal .  because all banks can receive payments from paypal why can i not fund my paypal acct  for all my shopping etc

The primary reason why you can't add funds to your PayPal account is because PayPal in India does not have a banking license - it cannot "hold" funds. That is the reason why every day all of the PayPal balance is withdrawn to ones bank account. In India, you can use PayPal for the following:- Receive payments for goods or services from non-Indian buyers. Yes, PayPal will not let people from India pay for your goods and services. This is as per RBI rules and regulations. Making payments using your credit/debit card.

If you are getting error it means Your credit card is not accepted by PayPal . Try to link another credit card. It is true that you can't hold money in PayPal account but if you want to purchase any thing online, you can do it by adding credit card or few bank such as ICICI bank debit card. Can I make a payment using debit card via paypal? "To complete this payment, link a debit or credit card to your PayPal account or update your card details." This msg is what I get. So would I be right in saying that I cannot add an amount to paypal but can use it as a medium to pay by my debit or credit card?
