Planning to visit Paris, France Oct. 2-5. Can someone suggest good hotel ( not very expensive and friendly)?

There are a ton of affordable hotels - or pensions. Small hotels with maybe 30-40 rooms. My favorite is the hotel Manet on 15 rue Edouard Manet near the Place d'Italie. It's about 65 Euro and the rooms are well maintained, the staff has had NO turnover in the 20 years I've been going there, and that includes the housekeeping staff. their breakfasts, for a 2 star hotel, is great: eggs, cereal, yoghurt, apple sauce, plus the usual great coffee and pain aux raisins, etc email is [email protected]

Hotel Andre Latin, 42 Rue Gay Lussac.

Hello. This hotel is not far from my home : http://www.parishotelsfrance.com/paris/14/virgina.html It's very friendly, not expensive (about 80€/night for 2 personn), and looks very tipical for paris. Ask for the room at the last stage, witch is in the corner of the hotel : the best one !

Hotel Bonséjour, rue Burq, 75018 Paris. Situated in the charming district of Montmartre, the Bonséjour is unpretentious, with clean comfy rooms, some with little half-balconies. It cost about 45 euros a night for a double last time i was there; not the cheapest in town, but a good quality/price ratio. It is a couple of minutes walk from Abesses or Pigalle metro and a short walk from the funicular tram up to the church of Montmartre. Stayed twice and would definitely go back. For a memorable and reasonably priced meal, it is worth visiting Chartier (metro Grands Boulevards). The interior is virtually unchanged from the 1880s original and the prices, considering the decor and location, are reasonable.

That depends on what you mean by "not very expensive." The Hotel St. Andre des Artes at 66 rue St. Andre des Artes in the 6th arr, has singles for 66 euros a night. You can get hostel space for much less. Check out this website: http://www.cheaphostel.com/

Most of the cheap hotels in Paris are imposible to find online. You have the roam the district you want to stay in and find one or stay in an overpliced chain. I found one off the commerce metro stop for 32 euros a night.

Check out Hotel Montebello. I stayed there two years ago. It's near a metro stop and les Invalides. It cost 44 Euro per night for a double (if I am remembering correctly.) It was nothing special...but it had a bed and our own bathroom. I only saw one worker; he was nice. I found this hotel through Let's Go Europe. I hope this helps!

Inexpensive can be done if you stay outside the city, or down scale your expectations. Friendly, you will not find this quality in the Parisian hotel industry unless you spend lots of money and are not from the America.
