Teenage stores in Paris, France?

Are there any stores like target or wal-mart in Paris, France?

  • Im going to be studying abroad for the spring semester and, coming from the United States, am used to having the things I need to buy easily accessible. Are there any stores with ...show more

  • Answer:

Monoprix will get you a lot at low french prices so it is a good start. people who recommends that you bring your make up of your batteries might be right (things can be a bit more expensive in paris) BUT do you really want to clog up your luggages with that stuff??? funny enough, french students do buy that stuff in Paris and they are not worse off!!!! Kmart / Walmart do not exist in France, but we have different shops there and after a few weeks, you'll find your "suppliers". and remember that Paris is well served by the metro so you can get anywhere easily.

Of course there are stores that sell everything in Paris ! And with the metro you can go everywhere quite quickly. However Walmart and Target don't exist here but there are similar ones. You don't have to search for big stores for everyday stuff : even small stores like Monoprix sell most of the stuff you need for everyday life. For more fancy stuff or clothes, you can check Printemps, Galeries Lafayette or go to Les Halles, a big shopping mall. Have a nice trip.

I hate when people refer to AMERICA as AMERIKA. That is NOT the name of our country! Well hun, you won't find something too similar to what we have back home as Wal mart, K mart, Target, Kohls, etc. I am studying abroad at the moment, will be home in December and I wish I would have stocked up on more things from home! Some things I advise you to buy at home and pack : --enough makeup to last you the whole duration! Keep in mind the change in seasons, if you'll be tan or not, etc. Makeup is so much more expensive over here! -Small (hotel size) bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. You can pack a lot more of them and they weigh less than big bottles. -Batteries!! Buy batteries at home before you go! --Converters. This should be an easy one but get more than one converter so that you dont have to unplug your charging laptop to straighten your hair, or vice versa. Like I said, I am currently studying abroad and I have many tips that I wish someone would have provided to me. If you want Target or Wal-Mart then stay home in AmeriKa. There are any number of shopping malls, since the first one was in Bruxelles and there have been covered shopping malls in France for more YEARS than AmeriKa has been a country. Once you get located in Paris, ask around and find where the shopping malls are... They are mostly in the outlying areas.. you won't find them in City Center, clustered around the Louvre.

The only thing close is a store called TATI. Lots of low cost clothing and goods. MONOPRIX is a grocery store which sells food and other assorted items, some clothing depending on the size of the store.
