What are the best things to do in Paris?

If I were to visit paris, what are the best things to go and do once I am there?

  • also is normandy close to the city of paris?

  • Answer:

Normandy is kinda far...but I think you can do it in a day and go back. If you start early in the morning. Here's a list of what I want to do. I try to keep the art museums to something like one a day, because they can be very draining, and, as I recall, they don't have coffee shops inside for a quick jolt of extra energy! The Louvre, Notre Dame, Musée d´Orsay, Pompidou, Eiffel Tower, Sacré Coeur, Arc de Triomphe. The Arc de Triomphe is basically something you just walk by and take photos of. It's in the middle of a roundabout with, like, 8 lanes or more of traffic circling it. That alone is worth a photo. If you really want to get to it, I believe there is a subterranean walkway to get there, but if you want to go to the top, it costs money, and it's not as high as Notre Dame or the Eiffel Tower, so if you're doing those, then WHY??? You'll get better views of the city from the other two. The Champs Elysées is worth just walking along, or you can shop, or stop and eat at one of the many overpriced restaurants and cafés there. It costs the most to sit on the sidewalks or terraces, less to sit inside, and the cheapest is to stand at the bar. In those places, it is definitely worth it to stand at the bar, if you are on a budget. there are tons of parks and gardens to check out. The Luxembourg, and Bois de Boulogne are two of the most famous. Lots of people like to go to the cemetery in Mont Martres, among other things, to find the grave of Jim Morrison. I understand it's easy to find once you locate the cemetery. lots of littler churches, too, things that have been mentioned in some book or other that you might have read, or seen used as backdrops for movies and television. But that's just what I would do...you need to do a bit of research for yourself, in order to make sure that you don't miss something that you might have wanted. Tons of websites to that end. Also, I recommend DK Eyewitness books. Except for the fact that you are going to wind up wanting to see EVERYTHING they highlight... have fun!
