    when i wanted to get all my pets, my excuse was my deppression and anxiety. say your lonely and you no your horse will never betray you. tell them you will look after it(if you want). and parents always want to here 'saftey first' so were a helmet. if u have other pets take the responsibility of them too. that will open up there trust. cut grass, get a job or do house cleaning for people you no. have fun be safe and take care of your horse!

Reading is knowledge, but it's not skill. Your next step would be to take lessons ON a real horse--get the skills to control a thousand pound animal and then you'll have more to bargain with. The cost of a horse--boarding, food, vet care--is NOT for the squeemish or the poor. If their income can't accomodate it you're not likely to be getting ANY large animal anytime soon. Get the training on real animals and learn how to work around the creatures, get very comfortable with it, and you can move on from there. That part alone will take at least three years.
