Are there any online sites for shopping in Finland?

How do online shopping sites such as Flipkart, Shopping.indiatimes.com & Myntra.com and many others manage there logistics?

  • Recently I ordered 4 books from http://shopping.indiatimes.com, each book was shipped separately, all the 4 books were sourced from New Delhi but were shipped by different 3 couriers (Bluedart, Aramex, Delhivery). Why were they shipped separately? It was possible to ship these in a single pack and thus saving some shipping cost.

  • Answer:

Indiatimes shopping works on a marketplace model, which means it needs to source its products from the vendors before they reach you. In your case the vendors for all these 4 books might have been different and Indiatimes shopping wont have brought everything to their warehouse and shipped it as one. Another reason could be the non-availability of all 4 titles at the same point in time and to meet their shipment SLAs they would have sent the books separately. In both cases the site is making losses due to increased shipment costs, how it makes sense? maybe some from their teams can answer...
