Can i hook up my subwoofer to my receiver?

What cable do I need to hook up my subwoofer to the receiver?

  • The receiver has a specific "Subwoofer" input and it's color is black. The subwoofer has 2 inputs for Line In, L (white) and R (red). We don't have a cable that ...show more

  • Answer:

its all the same... the white, or left, is often replaced with black to make things easier: mainly to make it easier to identify is there is ever a white RCA on a white speaker. And BTW, the colors mean nothing- red, black, white- they are all the same, just color coated to tell the difference. You can even cross R/L: have red in red on one side and red in white on the other- theyre just cables. And BTW. yes, you need left/right. Again, theyre just color coated RCA cables, any color will work. If the reciever has a left/right out for the sub and there are left/right inputs on the sub, yes, you will only hear left if you only have one. The two L/R make up a whole (or that is the idea...)
