I own a Panasonic w/ 80Gb HD. I really like it. The editing program is the best I've seen (better than Magnavox or Philips, which seem to be the same company), much tighter edits. What will you be using it for? I definitely recommend the Panasonic for editing, but if your looking to record a lot of video, I would recommend something with more HD space (Magnavox or Philips 160Gb DVD recorder). You may also consider a recorder with VCR/DVD/HDD for transferring formats. There aren't many choices out there for standalone DVD recorders w/ hard drives around. Where did you see there units?
