If i buy a cable box for a second TV, will it work with comcast cable?
-
I already have comcast cable service coming into my home, and wanted to know if I were to buy a cable box for my second tv would it work?
-
Answer:
You cannot go out and buy a cable box, or at least just any. You need one that will work with your provider, or is 3rd party a Cablecard box. You may need to buy one from the cable provider or an authorized agent, of which for most cable providers they only lease them. Stay away from "used" ones on Ebay, Craigslist, or the like, at least without consulting with your provider first, to make sure they will allow such and the box you wish to buy can be activated on their system.
