Why should I move from my current ecommerce site using Paypal Shopping Cart to Shopify?
-
My site loads fast, there are 3000 products, many likes on the product pages. We are using Movable Type from 2004 and there are lots of custom php put in to power search and its fully compatible with google shopping. We don't need inventory management because we do a mixture of drop shipping and we sell off line too.

Answer:
It sounds like your site is running well. Without knowing more details I've listed a few Shopify features that may be appealing: -Beautiful themes: I like Shopify's free templates more than any other shopping cart: http://themes.shopify.com/ If you're considering a redesign, going with a pre-existing responsive skin could save time and ensure you look good on tablets and smart phones. I also like Shopify's new live theme editor. -24/7 access to customer support: If your store goes down for any reason you'll be able to reach out to a member of the tech team to help you troubleshoot. -PCI-compliant: If you're not already compliant, the fully web-hosted Shopify arrives with out of the box PCI compliance and uses 128-bit SSL encryption. -Several integrations: Add-ons are easy to install, plus there's a solid http://apps.shopify.com/shopify-mobile?ref=merchant-maverick

Don't move it, just integrate PayPal Pro. Why are you thinking about moving?

I'm software developer and I really donât know why. It's very controversial platform and now I tell you the reasons. While some e-commerce experts consider Shopify like the most featured ready-to-use e-commerce platform, others donât. It really has all the basic features which any small business may need: product cards, order CRM, built-in analytics, payment gateway integrated, fraud analysis, blog, social network's integration, etc., But I'm not sure what support is available for exporting data when the time comes to migrate to a different system. It has no one-page checkout - can hurt conversion rates, limited payment gateways for the non-major markets (USA, Canada, UK). Are you sure you want to migrate to its platform? Besides, you will have to pay over $280 monthly (plus transactional fees) to get all Shopify features. I canât say I'm happy that cost can rise dramatically once you add some 'apps' which really should be baked into the core platform (e.g., reviews, social login).I suggest you to have to look at ShoppingCart.Elite. They offer an all-in-one solution so you wonât need to rely on dozens of different apps, plugins, extensions, and/or integrations to run your business. They have some of the best features youâll find in terms of marketing, marketplace management, ERP and analytics and I find them to be affordable. Their only downside I think is that they donât offer a cheap starter plan, but if youâre really serious about e-commerce youâre not going to get much with cheap solutions any ways. Mostly, I like the built-in tool - Threat and Engagement Analytics Software(TEA). TEA offers you a lot of great opportunities to promote your website and boost sales. They have a free demo trial which is definitely helpful. So in terms of price, quality, I think itâs worth it.Disclosure: I am a software developer and used this platform.

It looks like you are own a server and self-hosted b2c site.If have no good reason, don't switch. Unless you met below situation: Server is hard to manage time to time No good developers surrounding. Many functional apps can found in Shopify app store The looking is about to changing If yes, you can consider moving to http://www.shopify.com/?ref=erp-boostYou also raised another question: Paypal Shopping CartIt is simple, if you know what are your users are doing in your website(tracking everything), Then no need to switch. If not, Switch.Above tip fromhttp://www.shopifychina.com/uk.html
