What makes a computer run faster ram or ghz?

  1. its Ghz, and i kinda hate to say it, but for your computer purposes, the ratio of RAM vs Ghz, is about 1:1...meaning that you need both to be good inorder to play a game smoothly..Think of it like this: remember when you were in 3rd grade? and you had to do some multiplication problems in less than 1 minute? and you'll wright the # on top of each other, and the X to the left of the problem, carry the one, etc....the more RAM you have, the 'better' you can work with the numbers(or steps, etc), and when you have to do the math in you head, like what is 10 X 3, the faster you do that, the more Ghz you have... kinda get it now? so for gamming, you'll need a good ratio of both...otherwise, you could do the math in your head fast/good, but you'll take for hours trying to remember how to setup the problem, etc... 2. NO, all computers are different, for example, one might have MS. Windows XP Professional, which may not be any better than another computer that has Windows XP Home edition, but the Operating Systems themselves, have a difference of about $1-200. it may also depend on the brand(HP, eMachines, Dell, etc), or in rare cases, it may be the # of programs it has installed. But sometimes it is more expensive simply because of the way its built(like you said, more/better/stronger components=more expensive) have any questions?
