I am traveling by train for the first time from Munich to Vöcklabruck with an 8mins transfer in Salzburg Hbf train station. I need to transfer form EC to OIC train in these 8mins, can ...show more

8 minutes should be no problem at all. The train station is not that big there. Ask the cunductor on which plattform the train leaves. Even if you don't make it there is train for Vöcklabruck from Salzburg approx. every 30 mins. So as long as you do not intend to take the last train possible you'll be delayed for max. 1 hour or so. You can check the schedule at the website of the Austrian Railroad company here: http://www.oebb.at/ you can set the language to English in the upper right area.

there will be a "conductor" on your train - someone in uniform - I suggest you ask him/her on which track (Gleis) you are coming into the station and on which track the train to Vöcklabruck will be. The tracks are usually sequentially numbered, and this should help you go into the correct direction. or the link below let's you query your trip - put in München Hbf for the start and Vöcklabruck for the end of the trip, pick your correct departure time, and the screen will show you the tracks you arrive at Salzburg and the track you leave from.
