How do i change my printer status from idle to ready?

How do I change the status of my printer?

  there should be a printer icon in the botton right on your task bar. double click it and it will bring up a box with all your pending items to print. right click on the one you want to print and 'start' it. It it doesn't work. Delete it. The task to print will be deleted, not your file. And then try it again. If that does't work, the spooler might need to be restarted.
