How do i scan by pressing the scan button on the printer, not manually on the computer?

Please edit your question by adding the printer brand and model...kinda hard to guess but did you try scanning offline or disconnected from the PC?

It could be a driver problem with your printer/scanner. Go to these sites to see if you have the latest drivers. http://www.driverguide.com/ http://www.driveragent.com If this doesn't work, try uninstalling the printer/scanner and reinstall it again, if you still have the installation CD.
