Which is better for college: Mac or PC?

Which is better for college a Mac or PC?

  • I am going to college in the fall and i am stuck between getting a mac notebook or a pc.

  • Answer:

Hi Wes, There are many great PCs to choose from. What will you be using your laptop for besides schoolwork? Do you like to watch DVDs or play games? A couple great suggestions are the Dell Studio 15 (which is perfect if you will be using your laptop to watch movies) and the Toshiba Satellite T135D-S1325WH (which is ultra-lite and portable). Both are very affordable laptops. I suggest you check out a tool called PC Scout which helps you narrow down your options. You can enter the specs that are most important to you, such as price, screen size, RAM, etc. and the site will generate recommendations. I hope this is helpful. Isabella MSFT Windows Outreach Team

MAC! at my school, all the seniors get Macs for the year and they work great for all our needs in class and out! my mother has a PC.. i personally wouldn't want to get one after having a Mac at all!

Go for a PC. I recommend a Sony Vaio, there great laptops and run very well. I have the E series with an i3 processor and it is fast, never freezes and plays HD movies very well. The keyboard is the best I have ever used and it even has a cool "web" function that lets you browse the internet without with out starting up the whole computer. For about $700 I got a better processor, more RAM and a bigger hard drive than the cheapest macbook, which is $999. Plus it comes in awesome neon colors like blue, pink and green. The macbook does have a lot of style but that should come second, especially too a college student who need to get work done. As for performance, my Vaio runs better than my friends macbook and it has never crashed or frozen. Don't overpay for something that is no better. Get a PC! It is still more compatible-you will probably be doing a lot of sharing of files, etc or at least you will have less problem with friends or teachers not being able to open your email attachments etc or vice versa

niether of them are especially good for college, its not like 1 gives you a boost to your gpa or something. most people i know who buy macbooks regret it tho because they cant play games on them and they always end up needing to run windows software, so u run it thru Wine which slows it down.
