How to edit certain film?

How do you edit a movie with a film camera if you cant hook it up to a pc?

  If you are talking abour FILM using a projector, the film was spliced that means cut and taped back together using special tape. It took hours to get right and a pile of old film on the floor. If you are talking about pre digital video such as Beta max and VHS then it was edited live. linear editing, that means you have all the pieces of the video ready to go, and you "edit" the video by mixing different tapes (maybe) pausing the recording tape until you reach the correct part you want to add.
