What is the best brand camcorder?

Which camcorder should I get? What is the best brand?

• I am looking for a camcorder, I want one with a rechargeable battery and one that is UNDER $200. What is a good brand? And which one should I get? P.S. I want a MINI DV Thanks!

  Sony and Canon are great brands to stick with. Panasonic makes some great prosumer cams but I don't know about their consumer line... You may have a hard time finding a MiniDV based cam at that price but with the new solid state cameras coming out now you may be in luck. don't by shy with ebay either, you can find some good deals there but be sure to get an extended warrenty with any camera as something usually goes wrong with them after you loose the standard coverage... Edit I highly suggest the Extended coverage. It's just worth it, especially if you use the camera a lot or it's your only camera. So many times I have dropped a camera from a tripod or a pixel has died on me and its usually after the standard coverage goes out the window. Instead of paying a ton for repairs IMO it's worth getting the coverage which isn't much in the first place... For a small $300 cam I can see it not being anything worth the price but once you start going past $600 for your camera I highly suggest the coverage. you have to keep in mind I keep running high priced cameras though my mind when talking cameras. I use pro grade equipment every day.
