Got a message saying "Another computer is trying to use my IP Address?"?
-
I'm using my MacBook, use internet via my router (which is supposed to be secure), and I do use my iPhone with the router too.

Hi. It appears that you're not really asking a question - as a matter of fact, you've written a statement with a question mark at the end. :) It also appears that user:VVR may know a bit too much about routers, WEP and WPA logins than she (or he) should. Then again, it also appears that I'm not providing you with an answer, so I guess that makes everything kind of "balanced", doesn't it? (Hmm, it also looks like I'm the only one asking a question in this question.)

it could just be your computer is telling you that your iphone is trying to use your ip address. its common i think. but it could also mean someone else is using your wireless
Dan
Perhaps another user was trying to access the Internet through your wireless connection. That user was denied.

U have probably assigned one of your computers a static IP address and now another device is trying to use that same IP address. Either disable the static IP address, or turn on DHCP on your router so it automatically assigns IP addresses. That way they won't conflict.

I agree with andrew. I don't think anyone's trying to crack your router, I believe each of your devices are trying to use the same INTERNAL ip address your router is providing. True, it could be because of a static setting but more likely one is holding an ip address & the other came on and got it and when you brought the FIRST device back up from sleep you likely got the message there. just reboot or restart the device which got that message & you'll likely come right back up.
