How do you make sure that photos you send someone as an attachment in a email don't open up too big?

What you need to do is resize the image. You can do this easily using mspaint too! Open the image in windows paint program. Then go to Image tab under the top menu bar. Select sketch/skew or simply hit ctrl+w while viewing the image in paint. In the dialog box that appears. There is 100% height and 100% width under the "STRETCH" menu. Change values to 50% in both the boxes and close. Now your image will be resized to half of the original resolution. You may hit ctrl+w to see that the values have changed to 100% but the image is still half its original size. So change values again to 50 each to resize the image to 25% of its original size and continue to do so until you get the desired resolution or size.

Decrease your image size to 1024x768 pixels or 800x600 pixels and save it as .jpg. You can use this free program to decrease the size of your photos. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/photofiltre.html

Mail it to yourself first. Then check it , when you get what you want write down the settings and use them.

Convert your pic into JPEG format. it is the best format of pics tto send online. the receiver will see pic clearly and big enough that will fit into their monitor. and also it is small in size. it takes lot less time to attach it and send it. I think it will help
