Personally I used Screen VidShot for recording my screen activity and for creating some tutorials. You can try it too. Bit I don't know about possibility to write anything during recording.I've never tried this option.

Every coin has two sides. I have used several recording softwares ,the much better one is total screen recorder. Hope you can like it,too.

Camtasia Studio 6, there is a free 30-day trial online. I'm not sure about writing it because I haven't been using it for long, but you can overlay writing in Windows Movie maker.
