  • Answer:

It would be good to use CSS for the styling and formatting of your website, with the base of your website using divs instead of tables for the most flexbility. You could use a web builder software like Ultimate Web Builder - http://www.redesigns.org/web-builder for the base. You don't need any web programming experience to use it, but as you learn more coding, you can integrate your custom coding into it.

W3Schools will provide sufficient information to make basic to very complex websites. You should have your first useful page should be running within a few hours. You will need css to beautify the page and eventually php or javascript for interactive functions. Some day you probably will need a database (SQL). W3Schools has information on all of these. Learn what you need when you need it.

In programming in any language...it's not about remembering or memorization. It's about hands-on use. Review what you've learned, do all of the projects over and over until it's burnt into your brain cells. As you do the projects, ask yourself how would you design a web page using the code that you're learning. If you want to do more than just code a page, but also 'design' a page...you should also look into some art classes so you become more artistically creative.
