How does the Wi-Fi on the iPod touch work?

How can i get the internet on my ipod touch ? Is it possible to make it work without wifi ?

    Try guessing the password, or download the app "WifiTrak". It's handy and finds lower strength wifi that Settings.app does not. Other than that no, you cannot.

Nooo - that's why the TOUCH is a scam. It doesn't do ANYTHING unless you have perfect wi fi. Those garbage APPS? 100,000? without internet- ZERO!! hahahah You should return it asap and look at Zune HD. They at least have superior sound quality and you can listen to the radio without having to use the internet. Apple is full of con artists supported by geeky apple fanboys who will critique me

No it wont work without wifi - go to settings - click on wi-fi - and then try and find a network without a lock symbol next to it (security). The reason why people wont tell you the password is becuase you don't help pay their internet bill. Try working out a deal with them - tell them that you will give them a little money every month for being able to use thier wi-fi - or you can buy your own internet service and a wireless router and set up your own password.
