I totally agree and marked your question as "interesting" so it doesn't get knocked down again. It is as fair a question as those constant "Don't you know the Bible says...." things we get just about every day.

People still read that book of lies?

You are a perfect example of a gobshyte You hate the Bible, thats fine, you can be part of whatever religion or faith you want to be. You can be non-religious, atheist, agnostosist, seculuralist or whatever you want to be, thats fine. You're right about religion, be it ( Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Jewdaism ) ...or whatever, yes they have their flaws, wrong doings and all of that but it is the same with criminals, terrorists, governments and nearly everything else, no human is perfect, no animal is perfect, no plant is perfect, no anything is perfect but if everything was perfect and the way all of us wanted it to be, then there would be nothing left to fight for, to pray for or even to hope for, the world would be a boring place with no meaning or dignity. Yes in my opinion "gay" marriage is okay and acceptable, although it is not my say. Dont take the Bible literally for Jesus Christ did not write it, it is interpretations. There is no need to scorne it either.

I think people are just ignorant to differences

The interpretations of the bible are from their time period because it was written and interpreted by God. But its not the word of God because God didn't write so its all based on belief as to what it says.

It is quite clear you do not understand the bible or the contexts in which it is written . Example ....Leviticus was Old Testament ..today Christians live under the New testament .very different

Dr Hope

Slavery was a fact of life in the times it was written. it was a fact of life when Mark Twain wrote huckleberry finn too the bible also gave human rights to slaves, something that didn't exist before.

Chanjuv Naim

The reason is quite simple. What the Bible says about slavery is also right, but mankind is just ignoring the Word of God. What the Bible says about girls is also right, but mankind is ignoring it. What the Bible says about diet is also right, but mankind is ignoring it, and that's why we have all the health problems we have, we don't follow a holy diet. The Bible's laws on crime are right too, but mankind ignores it. The right answer isn't that since man is breaking a bunch of other ways of God, we should just go ahead and break another law, that you don't like. The right answer is that we should start following all the other old ways again and return to the Lord. The only laws that were done away with were the laws of sacrifice, because the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrifice.
