How do I remove yahoo messenger from taskbar?

    I am not sure you can remove it from your task bar, unless you click to minimize it. To do so, Go to Preferences under YMessenger. Under the General Tab, right under where it says "When I'm using Yahoo Messenger" you will see a choce that says "remove the taskbar button when I minimize the main window". Put a check mark on that and click "apply" and then "ok".

It's easy ... right-click the smiley icon and select 'Exit'/. If you want to avoid having Messenger load on Startup, type "msconfig" (without the quotes) in the Run command (in the address bar in Windows 7), then click the Startup tab for the list of programs. Uncheck Yahoo Messenger. You can open it any time you need it, but it will not log in automatically when your computer boots up.
