  The only advice I can give you is to talk to your friends that have had driving lessons and find out who they went through and see who they would recommend. Sometimes one instructor will be great for one person but not so good for another. It's the chemistry between the instructor and the student. If you are still with the instructor that you feel you are not learning with, try asking questions. Tell him that you would like to know how to parellel park, or merge onto a highway, or what ever you are having trouble with. It may be that you actually are learning but that you are finding driving is actually easier than you think. 12 hours of driving isn't going to make you a professional driver.
