What years/models of the Honda Civics have VTEC?

I am looking to buying a car to tune it to the fullest, and I am wondering what year/model of the Civics are the best tuners, and what years they have VTEC? Please help I am 16 and ...show more

x2 with SoCal, just only revisions i would make to the list would be to add: 1994-1995 Honda Del Sol VTEC [trim] (B16A3 DOHC VTEC) and the 02-05 Civic Si HB (K20A3 DOHC i-VTEC), i know its already mentioned, but there is no 2001 Civic Si. also there is one more: but this isnt really a tuner car, its more for mileage, 96-00 Civic HX (D16Y5 SOHC VTEC-E)

On a 16 year olds budget (under $7000 I'm assuming) I'd say a 1996-2000 EX or Si coupe I know have vtec engines. I'm not a huge Honda guy so those are the only ones I could say for sure have VTEC.
