    Take as many honors and AP courses as you possibly can, I promise it will help because this happened to me too. As for electives, take the electives that pertain to the career you'd like to pursue one day or potential major for when you are looking into applying for college. I know it sounds bizarre because it only your second year in high school but the sooner you start realizing these things and go through a reality check the possibilities for your senior year are endless. Talk to guidance counselor and check with her for extra advice, but continue to push yourself everyday and don't give up! I made a complete 360 my junior year and went from 165 in a class of 685 kids to 100.

In order to increase your GPA you could get extra help from teachers. Every little bit helps. If you're taking honors courses, change them to regular courses unless you believe that you can get your grades up. If you want, you can fill your schedule with easy A courses (like art classes). If you put in effort into these courses, it will show. In your core classes fight for every point. You are raging a war upon the evils of competitive grading. Show no mercy. Good luck.
