iTouch is an mp3 player. There is no app that can be added because it was not built with the same technology as a phone and it does not have a microphone period. You can however add like an AIM app or a facebook app that will let you chat, but it's not texting.

well considering the itouch doesnt have a microphone i dont think you could make calls on it.
