What's the history behind women shaving their legs?

When did women start shaving the hair off their legs and under arms and any where else they shave?

well, where else would they possibly shave,? I believe the first one to promote lady shaving was the Remington shaver company (Or it might have been Schick; one of the two anyway) . The company was going under and they had to come up with a new gimmick to save the company... lady shaving was this idea.

They also do it in Scotland, and Northern Ireland and Wales as well as England. All these countries come under the United Kingdom, so you could've just said that instead of just England. I'm sure they do it in the Republic of Ireland too. And Australia..New Zealand..Canada...all the main English speaking countries. Western European countries as well. Not sure about the rest of world and exactly when it came along.
