Why do Veterinarians not worry about blood types in dogs when they do blood transfusions?

Dogs do not have the same type of immune responses to blood transfusions as humans. You can think of it as all dogs have the same blood type. Cats are different though, they have 3 different blood types, if I remember correctly. Pups just like to make it easy for us :)
